About Us: Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat time should I arrive? Please arrive approximately 15 minutes prior to your scheduled service time to give yourself enough time to complete a short intake form and change into a robe. If you arrive late, your technician may need to shorten your service in order to stay on time for his or her next guest. What should I wear? If you are receiving a massage or body treatment, you will be given a locker, robe and spa slippers or sandals. You should undress to your level of comfort - many guests choose to undress completely and others choose to leave on their underwear. Either way, please keep in mind that you will be draped for privacy throughout your treatment. May I request the gender of my massage therapist? Yes. Please feel free to specify if you have a strong gender preference for your massage therapist. We will make every effort to accommodate your request. What is your cancellation policy? Please give us at least 24 hours notice if you need to change or cancel your appointment. Otherwise, the credit card used to secure the appointment will be charged the full service price. If an emergency arises, please let us know as soon as possible - if we are able to fill your appointment slot (or if you know someone willing to take your place), you will not be charged. What is expected of me during my treatment? Please keep in mind that your time at Spa Space is about YOU, and your technician wants to know if you are uncomfortable in any way. Communicate with your technician if you experience any pain or if you would like him/her to adjust pressure or technique. Otherwise feel free to remain silent and drift off during your service - this will not offend your technician! What sort of training do your technicians have? All of our technicians are hand-selected for their customer service skills as well as the high quality of their technique. Each is also licensed and certified in accordance with all applicable state and city laws. Is it customary to leave a gratuity? If you are satisfied with your service, it is customary in the spa industry to leave a gratuity for your technician. Spa Space provides "tipping envelopes" at the front desk, and a drop box for you to deposit them. Do you have showers or saunas? While Spa Space does not have saunas, we do offer wonderful oversized rainshowers. All of our spa guests are welcome to use our showers either before or after receiving service. Remember to arrive early if you would like to shower first! What should I do with my valuables? To the extent possible, leave them at home. While you will be given a locker and key, we do not recommend that you leave valuables in it. If you are concerned about a particular item, please keep it with you. Where should I park? Valet parking is available in front of the spa during business hours, and a self-park lot is available 1 block north of the spa. Street parking is usually plentiful on weekends but challenging on weekdays. How many guests can you accommodate at once? We can perform 23 services at any given time. If you are interested in planning a group event, please contact a customer service agent. Do you sell gift certificates online or by phone? Yes, and they may be sent by mail, fed-ex or e-mail. You may purchase a gift certificate for specific services or for any dollar amount. All gift certificates can be used towards any product and/or service of the value purchased. There are no cash refunds on gift certificates. Gift certificates do not expire; however, Spa Space menu items are subject to change, and a gift certificate purchased for a specific service may need to be supplemented by a price increase. To view our gift guide, or to reach our online store, click here. What forms of payment do you accept? Cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and Traveler's Checks. Do you serve wine or other alcohol? Due to City of Chicago regulations, unfortunately we are unable to serve wine or alcohol. You are welcome to bring your own.
